Your First Appointment

Before your first appointment you may be asked to complete a questionnaire. This is a very helpful way to save time and make sure that everything is covered.

It is also often helpful to make some notes beforehand and to think through all of the issues that are affecting your health.

If you are currently taking any medication, please make a note of this and bring the packaging with you when you come.

Your first appointment will take between sixty and ninety minutes. During this time, all aspects of your health and symptoms will be discussed. You will probably also be asked how these symptoms are affecting you emotionally and what impact they have on your day to day life.

Diet and lifestyle will need to be taken into account when making a prescription.

Follow up appointments usually take about 45 minutes, and are usually required 4-6 weeks after the initial consultation.

All information is treated confidentially and will not be discussed with anyone else without your consent. It is sometimes useful to share important information with your GP, however this will not be done without your permission.

In between visits, you may need a repeat prescription or a remedy for an acute ailment such as an accident, cold sore, conjunctivitis – this may be arranged by phone, email or fax and posted out to you without the need for an additional consultation.
